Note from the Artist: The subject of this painting started with some beautiful penstemon that was blooming about my house, and ended up being about some large old growth conifers which dominate this image. This watercolor went through a few revisions before I began the actual execution... it had a bit of a mind of it's own. I think the finished painting has the feel of both weight and wisdom...
