Note from the Artist: Sunflowers and Gumdrops was created after a morning visit to Field Five Farms in Huson, Montana. I fell in love with the little candy-colored flowers that looked to me like gumdrops. The little flower is Gomphrena; however, I couldn't for the life of me remember that name. So, while I was painting it I dubbed it "Sunflowers and Gumdrops" in my mind. I had every intention of changing the name; but the piece ended up being such a sweet soft painting that the name just ended up fitting, so the name "Sunflowers & Gumdrops," stuck just like a gumdrop has a tendency to do....
