A sure sign of spring are the golden morels that magically appear with just the right combination of sunshine and moisture. I love the sneaky nature of these beautiful dwellers of the forest floor - you have to look closely to find them - then once you’ve seen one they all seem to reveal themselves to you, almost as if they are applauding you for taking the time to slow down and pay attention.
I make these sweet little morel post earrings by melting down my silver scrap and then carefully carving them to show the delicate texture of the morel. Each little mushroom measures approximately 7/16 - 1/2 inch tall by 1/4 inch wide. The posts, made from recycled sterling silver, are approximately 3/8” long. I finish the earrings with a patina to show depth and texture.
