Artist Bio
I have been creating art my whole life. In 1998 I completed my BA in Art with an emphasis on painting from the University of Montana, Missoula. I decided to change my focus from painting to glass due to the amazing qualities of the material, but have retained a lot of my painterly style which gives my glass a fresh take from what you typically find in stained glass. My technical glass education largely came while working as an apprentice for Bordeleau Glass in Sun Valley Idaho and Lippert Glass in Missoula, Montana. I assisted in the complete fabrication of several large stained glass art installations for public buildings under the Federal Percent for Art program.
With this background in fine art and large scale stained glass assembly I started my own stained glass studio in 2000 in Missoula, Montana. In 2004 I received a scholarship to the Pilchuck Glass School founded by Dale Chihuly outside of Seattle. Here I worked with glass instructors from around the world and focused on glass etching. In 2014 I attend the Peter McGrain Glass Painting School in Hood River Oregon. This inspiring artist taught me the fundamentals of kiln fired glass painting. I have incorporated all these different skill sets into my stained glass work. With this as my background, I love to collaborate with my clients to create custom glass art that is amazing in both craftsmanship and design. My studio is happy to complete simple repair work as well. Please email or call to discuss the unlimited options in glass for whatever project you may have in mind.
When I am not busy in my studio I love to enjoy the outdoors in my beautiful Montana home. Yes, I know that everybody says that, but it’s true! Skiing, biking and boating are the most amazing way to experience this wonderful place. I am lucky to share it with my husband Pete and my cat Leroy.
