Note from the Artist: This piece depicts an imagined meeting between a caribou (an endangered species) and a Carolina parakeet (an extinct species). This work was inspired by an article that I read about the (admittedly remote) possibility of cloning and “resurrecting” the Carolina parakeet. I like the hopefulness of this thought. For me, this image is about that kind of hope.
