Note from the artist: This painting is of a flower farm in Montana. The woman who owned it was a one woman show. This painting came from the last year she farmed flowers. She told me I could take photos to paint, but that her farm wasn't really a "picturesque" flower farm, and that she had too many weeds mixed in for it to be pretty. I think not only was her farm gorgeous, the pictures and the painting are testament to the colorful beauty that she cultivated. Her farm, which is no longer around, inspired some of my favorite florals. This piece is a "nod" to all the incredible female owned small businesses and the women who run them.
