Note from the artist: This winter I found myself wondering what the animals are up to with this crazy variation on non winter. I imagined a couple of elk bedded down in some high country setting with the snow lightly falling. I love incorporating animals in my work although it's a seldom occurrence. The scene just has to be the right one for it to work. This is a peaceful and intimate painting. A secret viewing of a private moment.
